What we are looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic, people focused Project Manager who is passionate about life sciences to join our team, initially on a 6 month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will champion successful delivery of projects alongside our fantastic team of scientists and innovators. This role will guide teams through the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and close-out phases of project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Works closely with multiple, cross functional teams to generate comprehensive project plans which are clearly aligned to the company’s strategic milestones. These project plans include associated budget, resourcing requirements, risks, assumptions, operational dependencies, key milestones, and measures of success
  • Monitors and controls the execution of project plans through their lifecycle to ensure smooth progress through major milestones and successful project completion
  • Collaborates with and manages the different internal/external stakeholders associated with each project to support effective progress and timely completion of goals
  • Effectively identifies any key project risks, generates mitigation plans and proactively escalates any issues (supported with proposed solutions)
  • Measures and reports project progress to a variety of stakeholder groups
  • Implements clear communication plans to ensure alignment across teams
  • Implements changes and strives to continuously improve current processes
  • Attends, documents, and leads both internal and external facing meetings

 

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree in Life Sciences, preferably plant biology
  • Project management experience
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, and eager to develop
  • People-focused and excellent at building relationships
  • Excellent organizational capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Good scientific knowledge / ability to grasp technical concepts at pace
  • Outcome focused

  • Ability to effectively communicate and distil complex information succinctly
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills

 

Desirable

  • Agile project management experience
  • Project management qualifications (PRINCE2, PMP or other)
  • Work experience in a plant science related field
  • Experience managing projects in the life sciences sector / research environment
  • Experience managing external stakeholders
  • Experience working with Bioinformatics-based projects/teams

 

 

Additional Information

  • Job Location – flexible working with 2 or more days per week in the Norwich offices
  • Time Requirement – Full Time Hours, 6 months fixed-term contract
