What we are looking for

 

We seek to hire a Project Manager to join our team and champion an efficient, professional project management layout across our various working efforts. Key responsibilities held by this function will include:

 

▪ Work closely with laboratory staff and other project managers to ensure the smooth progress of each project through major milestones and successful project completion.

▪ Attend, document, and lead internal and external facing meetings

▪ Prepare reports and presentations for internal & external use

▪ Support project logistics, prepare documentation, package outgoing shipments and receiving incoming materials

▪ Keep accurate records

▪ Contribute to group meetings, including reporting project data, planning and troubleshooting

▪ Proactively help the team meet key objectives

▪ Collaborating with and directing the different internal/external stakeholders associated with each project to support effective progress and timely completion of goals

 

Qualification, knowledge, and key skills required (Essential (E)/ Desirable (D))

 

▪ Degree in life Sciences, preferably plant biology (E)

▪ Project management experience (E) ▪ Project management qualifications (D)

▪ Minimum 3 years work experience in a plant science related field (E)

▪ Experience managing projects in in the plant genetics or broader life sciences sectors (E)

▪ Direct experience in a project management role in a research environment (D)

▪ Experience with dealing external stakeholders (D) Specific skills & abilities

▪ Excellent organizational capabilities (E)

▪ Ability to prioritize and multitask (E)

▪ Good scientific knowledge (E)

▪ Ability to work to deadlines (E)

▪ Ability to work with cross functional teams (E) 

▪ Ability to effectively communicate and present findings and recommendations (E)

▪ Strong verbal & written communication skills (E)

▪ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (E)

▪ Experience with project management software (MS project, Smartsheet, etc) (D)

▪ Time Requirement - Full time position
