What we are looking for

This role has been newly created within our commercial team to ensure that we fully support the growing number of clients who have licensed Tropic’s proprietary GEiGS® technology. The Commercial Partnerships Manager - Technologies role is a full-time position with the successful candidate assuming responsibility for overseeing delivery of client projects. The person appointed to this role will also facilitate the process of engaging new clients. You will be required to work closely with laboratory staff and other project managers to ensure the smooth progress of each project through major milestones and successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage client projects at all phases of the pipeline from initial discussions, through project design, agreement and delivery of commitments. The successful candidate will ensure that Tropic’s commitments to collaborative projects are met in full so that projects run smoothly through to commercialisation.

Key responsibilities held by this function will include:

  • Liaising with customers, pre-agreement, to define a project workplan and resource allocation.
  • Updating Tropic’s R&D team on planned projects, agreeing on feasible timelines for delivery.
  • Collaborating with and directing the different internal/external stakeholders associated with each project to support effective progress and timely completion of goals.
  • Communicating closely with Tropic’s team and customer team, updating parties on progress and bottlenecks.
  • Leading quarterly data-sharing meetings ensuring that data are shared to support each parties’ needs.
  • Delivering Tropic’s commitments to customer, via concise presentations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of progress and deliverables.
  • Working closely with Tropic’s inhouse IP function to drive filing of trait patents.
  • Working with the commercial team to identify additional prospective clients for the GEiGS® technology.

Qualification, knowledge, and key skills required

  • Advanced degree in relevant scientific subject (e.g. Molecular Biology or Genetics).
  • 3+ years’ experience in partnerships management / customer solutions / project management / product management in the life-sciences or agribusiness sectors.
  • Proven experience in collaborating with development teams to accomplish defined goals in a timely manner.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
