What we are looking for
To support our continued growth, and having doubled in size since the start of 2020, we are looking to recruit an experienced HR manager to assume the role of ‘Vice President HR’. Our employees help us create unique value in the world and this role will aim to create innovative human resources services and programs that enable our people to develop, grow, and succeed.
The successful candidate will maintain a strategic and high-level perspective of the company while engaging in the daily operations of the business. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will partner closely with the executive leadership team to ensure successful strategic alignment across the organization.
The VP HR will lead the development and execution of Tropic Biosciences’ Human Resources long term strategic plan as well as shorter term initiatives in line with our business objectives. The successful candidate will understand where we are in our evolution as a company and will be ready to define and build the highest performing organization, excel at this stage of our growth and proactively plan and prepare for our next stage of growth. Specifically, this person will manage, improve, and grow all the following core HR and Recruiting areas:
Talent Vision and Strategy: Contribute to and develop our vision for talent, and translate this vision into bold, action-orientated, and organizationally coherent strategies.
Cultural initiatives: Create value for the organisation through an ambitious, aspirational, and positive multi-faceted culture that is equitable, diverse, and inclusive. Work with executive leadership to develop effective internal communications among our people to achieve our ambitious, company-wide goals
Organisational design, Recruiting and Talent Acquisition: Design a strategy for attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent. Help design and implement and organization that is capable of extraordinary scale, including the network of capabilities, roles and people, with particular focus on the value created at the intersection between roles.
Employee Learning, Development & Retention Programmes: Partner with executive leadership on development of leadership skills, behaviours, team dynamics and culture. Provide leadership, mentoring and development for the team and build relevant organizational capabilities. Develop and implement succession planning strategies for deepening our leadership and help define and provide the tools, skills and knowledge sharing capability to enhance our people.
Reward: Develop a fair, competitive and mission appropriate compensation philosophy (base, bonus, equity) and lead compensation and review cycles and provide routes for career progression.
HR Operations: Implement situation-appropriate HR systems with a view to rich business intelligence, data availability and quality. Ensure HR processes align with business and operational cadence, and compliance in all employment related aspects of the organization.
