What we are looking for

The Field Study Director will be responsible for Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS) compliance and should be able to oversee 5-8 trials in multiple crops in multiple geographies. This role resides within the regulatory science departments of Crops & Product Development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Study Director for a variety of regulated field studies conducted under Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS) standards in support of global projects when needed
  • Develop study protocols and protocol amendments that meet technical, project and regulatory objectives in collaboration with study participants and external partner organizations
  • Assure and that all regulatory and ETS requirements are communicated to study participants, and external partner organizations and are strictly observed
  • Assure studies meet all required deadlines and budget estimates
  • Evaluate the field and analytical data and prepare final study reports, taking responsibility for accuracy, compliance and robust scientific interpretation
  • Maintain well organized supporting data files suitable for internal and external (regulatory) auditing
  • Use of electronic data tools for the forecasting of test entries, study planning and initiation, data collection and report preparation
  • Support the management of business relationships with external contractor community and partners in the performance of regulated field trials, sample processing, and sample analysis, including the management of the bidding and contract awarding processes
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of external partners
  • Plan and direct the work of one or more contributing scientists/technicians/report writers performing a variety of complex tasks

 

Requirements

  • Ph.D. with at least four years of relevant experience OR Master of Science with at least eight years of relevant experience OR Bachelor of Science with at least 10 years of relevant experience in regulated field studies or related fields
  • Dedication to generation and interpretation of high-quality data and strict compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Conducts multiple, complex scientific projects and can prioritize tasks in a frequently changing environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Recognized strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment leading to constructive interactions
