What we are looking for

We are looking to recruit a qualified Laboratory Technician to undertake a variety of laboratory tissue culture procedures of a technical nature. The role will involve a blend of tissue culture, molecular biology and greenhouse work. You will be working within Coffee team to support Coffee Trait development platform to develop coffee with novel traits.

Key responsibilities held by this function will include:

Plant tissue culture

  • Maintenance of plant cell culture
  • Transformation of plant material
  • Regeneration of plants post-transformation#


  • Summarizing data for reports
  • Maintaining clear records in electronic lab notebooks
  • Updating databases.



  • BSc/Msc or equivalent in a biological subject
  • Molecular laboratory or hands-on tissue culture experience
  • Good organization
  • Excellent communication
  • Good practical skills


  • Knowledge or experience of working in industry / biotech
  • Understanding of plant transformation
  • Plant tissue culture experience
